The National Rural Health Association, in partnership with the Leon Lowenstein Foundation, is leading a national initiative to better understand how mobile health clinics are supporting rural communities. As part of this effort, an environmental scan is being conducted to identify current mobile health activities, successful care models, and promising practices across the country, including here in Mississippi.
This work will directly inform a national report outlining policy opportunities and funding strategies to strengthen rural health infrastructure at both the state and federal levels. Mississippi stakeholders have a unique opportunity to ensure that the realities, challenges, and innovations happening across our rural communities are reflected in this work. Mobile clinics are playing an increasing role in expanding access to care, and your insight is critical to shaping future support for these models.
The Mississippi Rural Health Association encourages providers, health systems, community organizations, and policymakers to contribute. If you are aware of mobile health initiatives in Mississippi or can recommend individuals for informational interviews, your input is needed. Please contact Mory Bell at Mbell@ruralhealth.us or Marguerite Peterseim at Mpeterseim@ruralhealth.us to share information and help elevate Mississippi’s voice in this important national effort.
