Mississippi is among the most rural states in the nation. To celebrate the quality healthcare delivered through Mississippi’s rural hospitals and rural health clinics, Governor Phil Bryant signed a proclamation in 2015 declaring November 20th of each year to be Mississippi Rural Health Day.

Mississippi Rural Health Day 2016
The Mississippi Rural Health Association, along with some of its key partners, hosted a reception on Friday, November 18th at Lake Terrace Convention Center to award the governor for his support of rural health. In addition, select rural clinics and hospitals throughout Mississippi received prestigious awards. Hospitals received awards based on hospital strength index scores, and rural health clinics will receive awards based on their efforts to pursue quality by either participating in an accountable care organization, a practice transformation network, or with the association’s quality health indicators initiative.Award recipients may be found on our awards page.
